Kenneth Shepard

Ken Shepard is the Lau Family Professor of Electrical Engineering and Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Columbia University. His research interests include applications of CMOS electronics to microbiology, neuroscience, and biophysics; two-dimensional electronic materials; and power electronics. He has co-founded several startups, including CadMOS Design Technology, which was acquired by Cadence in 2001; Ferric Semiconductor; and Quicksilver Biosciences. He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton and Ph. D. from Stanford and worked at IBM research for five years before joining Columbia.
