Alyosha Molnar

Associate Professor
Cornell University

Alyosha Molnar graduated from Swarthmore College in 1997. After a stint as a deckhand on a fishing boat, and spending 3 years in the semiconductor industry designing radio chips for cellular phones, he went to UC Berkeley fro graduate school. While at Berkeley he worked on very low power radio chips, and then as an electrophysiologist trying to reverse engineer the neural circuits of the mammalian retina. His retina work employed a mix of patch clamping, pharmacology, anatomy and computational modelling. He joined Corenll university in 2007 as a professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where his research focuses on microelectronics and associated systems for wireless communications, imaging, and neuroscience.
